Recycling Outside Your Dorm or Office

Academic Buildings

Academic buildings should have recycling containers alongside trash cans, typically located in common areas such as hallways or near vending machines. If you are in a classroom and need to recycle a bottle/can or paper, and there is not a recycling bin, please do not throw it in the trash! Instead, please find a nearby recycling container in a common area and recycle your item there.

Outdoor Recycling

As you walk between classes, or make a trip across campus, do not forget that there are plenty of Outdoor Recycling Containers for your use.  The same materials you would put in “Mixed Recyclables” totes in your residence hall or blue bins in your office can be placed in these receptacles: plastic bottles and containers, glass bottles, paper cartons, and metal cans.

Please keep trash out of the recycling containers, and vice versa!
